Make sure you have the following information when filling out the application:
  • Your FFA ID (see your advisor if you don't know yours)
  • An email account that you will have access to beyond high school; NOT tied to an academic institution
  • Your advisor’s email information 
  • A copy of academic transcripts
  • Accurate FAFSA information

​​The National FFA Organization provides scholarships designed to fit the diversity of our applicants. Scholarships sponsored by businesses and individuals, through the National FFA Foundation, are awarded to support a wide variety of higher education plans and career goals.

The new scholarship platform provides a variety of benefits for the end user.  Students can create, edit and submit an application utilizing any web platform including a smart phone.  Uploading any required documents directly to their application and accepting an awarded scholarship; all on-line. FFA Advisors can easily validate a student’s application with one click!

If you are not an FFA member, don’t worry! FFA has scholarships for you as well. Check out all of the possibilities in the FFA Scholarship Catalog. One application; multiple opportunities!

California FFA Association State Academic Scholarship

The California Association of Future Farmers of America Scholarship program is designed to recognize outstanding California FFA members and award students who plan to major in agriculture in the state of California. The California FFA Association with the help of generous sponsors awarded over $50,000 in scholarships last year.

There are a number of scholarships that a senior or graduate can apply for through the California FFA Association. For more information regarding the individual scholarships, click the PDF below.

Eligibility:
​The minimum eligibility requirements for all scholarships are as follows:
  • Applicant must be a member, in good standing, with the California Association FFA.
  • Must not have previously received a State FFA Scholarship
  • Applicant must hold the State FFA Degree.
  • Applicant must be a high school senior or high school graduate.
  • Applicant must pursue higher education with a declared major in agriculture.
  • Current state FFA officers are not eligible to apply. Former State FFA Officers may only apply for the Jerry T. Davis Honorary Scholarship.

Graduation Stoles & Cords

FFA Graduation Stole

An FFA graduation stole can be worn at graduation whether you are a 1st or 4th year senior. Because you are involved in the FFA, you earned the right to wear a stole at graduation! Wear it proud!

You can order your graduation stole at the National FFA Shop by clicking the image of the stole to the left. The image below shows how to order the stole from the FFA website. Make sure to order your stole 3 WEEKS before graduation. You will want the GOLD colored stole, so that it will pop on your graduation uniform!

FFA Graduation Cord - State degree recipients 

​The FFA graduation cords will be given to the students who are four year completers of the Gilroy High School FFA program. Those students who have earned the cord will receive it on the night of our End of the Year Banquet in May. Gilroy FFA is proud of our four year completers!

These will be AWARDED, not PURCHASED.

American Degree

As the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization, the American FFA Degree shows an FFA member’s dedication to his or her chapter and state FFA association. It demonstrates the effort FFA members apply toward their supervised agricultural experience and the outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement they exhibited through their FFA career.

American FFA Degree recipients show promise for the future and have gone above and beyond to achieve excellence.

Requirements: (as per National FFA - see PDF for more information) 
  1. ​Have received the State FFA Degree, have been an active member for the past three years (36 months) and have a record of satisfactory participation in the activities on the chapter and state level.
  2. Have satisfactorily completed the equivalent of at least three years (540 hours) of systematic secondary school instruction in an agricultural education program, or have completed at least the equivalent of 360 hours of systematic secondary school instruction in agricultural education and one full year of enrollment in a postsecondary agricultural program, or have completed the program of agricultural education offered in the secondary school last attended.
  3. Have graduated from high school at least 12 months prior to the national convention at which the degree is to be granted.
  4. Have in operation and have maintained records to substantiate an outstanding supervised agricultural experience program, through which the member has exhibited comprehensive planning and managerial and financial expertise.
  5. A student after entering agricultural education must have:
    a. Earn at least $10,000 and productively invested $7,500 orb.
    b. Earned and productively invested $2,000 and worked 2,250 hours in excess of scheduled class
        time. Any combination of hours, times a factor of 3.56, plus actual dollars earned and
        productively invested must be equal to or greater than the number 10,000. Hours used for
        the purpose of producing earnings reported as productively invested income shall not be
        duplicated as hours of credit to meet the minimum requirements for the degree.
  6. Have a record of outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement and have achieved a high school scholastic record of “C” or better as certified by the principal or superintendent.
  7. Have participated in at least 50 hours of community service within at least three different community service activities. These hours are in addition to and cannot be duplicated as paid or unpaid supervised agricultural experience hours.
